Step 1: Download the HERAW Extension

Save the downloaded file somewhere easily accessible on your computer.

If the download is a ZIP archive, extract it to locate the extension file (.avpi).

Step 2: Install the Extension

The installation directory depends on your operating system. Follow the instructions below for your configuration.

For macOS Users

1. Download and extract the extension if necessary.

2. Open Finder.

3. In the menu bar, select Go > Go to Folder.

4. Enter the following path:

/Library/Application Support/Avid/PanelSDKPlugins/

5. If the PanelSDKPlugins folder doesn't exist, create it.

6. Copy the HERAW .avpi extension file into this folder.

7. Make sure the file is located directly inside the PanelSDKPlugins directory.

8. Completely close Avid Media Composer if it is running.

9. Restart Avid Media Composer.

Important: Make sure you're using the system Library folder (/Library/), not your personal user Library folder (~/Library/).

For Windows Users

1. Download and extract the extension if necessary.

2. Open File Explorer.

3. Paste the following path into the address bar:

%ProgramData%\Avid\PanelSDKPlugins\

4. If the PanelSDKPlugins folder doesn't exist, create it.

5. Copy the HERAW .avpi extension file into this directory.

6. Completely close Avid Media Composer if it is running.

7. Restart Avid Media Composer.

Important: The ProgramData directory is hidden by default on Windows. You can access it directly by pasting the path above into File Explorer.

Step 3: Launch HERAW in Avid Media Composer

Once the extension is installed:

1. Launch Avid Media Composer.

2. Open the Extensions menu (or Tools on older Media Composer versions).

3. Find and select HERAW.

4. The HERAW panel should open inside your editing environment.

5. Sign in to your HERAW account if prompted.

You're now ready to connect your editing workflow with HERAW.
